
ADDIS ABABA – Algeria on Tuesday deservedly secured a seat on the African Union’s Peace and Security Council for a three-year term.
Algeria’s victory came during the elections held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, as part of the 24th extraordinary session of the Executive Council of the continental body.
Algeria won the vote after securing the support of 34 African countries in the third round, while Libya garnered 15 votes.
