Algeria to increase its oil production by 11,000 barrels per day next September

The eight countries in the “OPEC+” alliance decided on Sunday to approve a collective increase in oil production estimated at 547,000 barrels per day during September 2025, the Algerian Ministry of Energy said in a statement.

The Algerian ministry announced the decision after its representatives participated remotely via video conference in a ministerial meeting that included eight countries from the “OPEC+” group. These countries have committed, since April 2023, to voluntarily implement adjustments to their crude oil production.

Representatives from Algeria participated in this meeting alongside the energy and oil ministers of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Russian Federation, the statement said.

The discussions at this meeting centered on examining the current state of the international oil market and forecasting its short-term outlook, as well as evaluating the adherence to commitments regarding voluntary production cuts, including mechanisms for compensating for any excess production, the source said.

At the conclusion of the discussions, a collective increase in production by the eight participating countries was approved, amounting to 547,000 barrels per day for September 2025. Algeria’s share of this adjustment involves an increase of 11,000 barrels per day starting the same month.

The participating ministers also agreed to maintain a high level of coordination and consultation by holding regular monthly meetings to closely monitor market developments, ensure full compliance with voluntary commitments, and oversee the implementation of the agreed compensation mechanisms, the statement said, adding that the next ministerial meeting was scheduled for September 7, 2025.
