Algeria Highlights Leading Role in Child Protection During Talks with UNICEF Regional Director

The Secretary of State to the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Abroad, Sofiane Chaib, received on Wednesday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Regional Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), Edouard Beigbeder, according to a statement from the Ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the privileged relations between Algeria and UNICEF, and to explore ways to strengthen them through the implementation of ambitious programs and projects in areas of common interest, particularly with regard to the support and promotion of children’s rights and well-being, the source added.
In this regard, emphasis was placed on Algeria’s pioneering role in the field of child protection and the promotion of their rights, the efforts made in this area at both the continental and international levels, and the opportunities available to further strengthen cooperation with this United Nations agency, the statement concluded.
