The International Monetary Fund (IMF) revised upward, Tuesday, its economic growth forecasts for Algeria, now projected at 3.8% for 2026, despite a global context marked by the repercussions of geopolitical tensions on economies.
The updated figures were published on the Fund’s official website alongside the release of its World Economic Outlook report, on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings.
According to the international financial institution, Algeria’s economy is projected to sustain its positive momentum, with growth reaching 3.8% in 2026, up from the 2.9% forecast in October 2025, an upward revision of 0.9 percentage points.
The IMF noted that this performance is all the more noteworthy given the complexity of the current global economic environment.
It is worth recalling that the economic growth in Algeria is forecast at 4.1% in 2026, according to the projections of the latest finance law.
