Algeria: FM Attaf receives phone call from India’s Minister of External Affairs

ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Saturday a phone call from India’s Minister of External Affairs, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, according to a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the conversation, both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the success of President Droupadi Murmu’s state visit to Algeria last October, noting that it had given new momentum to bilateral relations. They also agreed to follow up on decisions made by the two countries’ leaders, particularly the upcoming session of the Joint Governmental Committee, scheduled to take place in New Delhi during the first quarter of next year, the statement said.
The two ministers stressed the need to intensify political consultations between their countries, given the challenges posed by the current international situation. They also reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening coordination within various organisations of mutual interest, the statement concluded.
