Algeria: FM Attaf holds talks with Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

ORAN, Algeria – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held bilateral talks on Sunday, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Odongo Jeje Abubaker.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the 11th High-Level Seminar on Peace and Security in Africa, offered an opportunity to review the strong bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, as well as explore ways to strengthen them further in preparation for the next session of the Joint Commission, set for the first half of 2025. The two ministers also held discussions on key issues related to upcoming continental events.

In a statement to the press following the meeting, Uganda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted that the discussions with Minister Ahmed Attaf encompassed topics related to the Oran Process, as well as bilateral relations between the two countries. He further emphasised that the seminar would explore “the significance of the Oran Process for Africa, not only in terms of peace and security but also in other areas.”
