Algeria, Colombia Strengthen Ties Amid Shared Support for Palestine and Western Sahara

ALGIERS — The Secretary General of the AlgerianMinistry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Lounès Magramane, was received by Colombia’s Foreign Minister Rosa Yolanda Villavicencio on the sidelines of his participation in the emergency ministerial meeting addressing serious violations of international law committed by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people, held in Bogota on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a ministry press release.
The meeting provided an opportunity to “review various aspects of Algerian-Colombian relations” and “examine ways to strengthen them, particularly in the economic field, and promote bilateral partnership, in anticipation of the 5th session of bilateral political consultations to be held in Algiers toward the end of the current semester,” the ministry noted.
The two sides also exchanged views and analyses on numerous international and regional questions of mutual interest, particularly developments in Palestine and the Western Sahara question, noting with satisfaction “the convergence of positions of the two countries and their common commitment to continue to defend just causes,” the statement concluded.
