
AL24 News Channel has won the 2026 African Union of Broadcasting Media Award in the category of Best Television Report.
The award, announced at the conclusion of the 17th General Assembly of the Union held in the Gambian capital, Banjul, was granted to the report by colleague Asma Laid titled: “Algeria… a leading academic destination for African students.
In the Artificial Intelligence category, Algerian Radio was awarded for its work titled: “When Artificial Intelligence Breathes New Life into African Heritage.” The Algerian Public Television Corporation also won for its production titled: “African Youth: A Shared Identity and a Shared Future.”
This award comes as part of the celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the founding of the African Union of Broadcasting, reflecting Algeria’s growing presence in the African media landscape.
