Algeria Advances Toward WHO ML3 Certification for Medicines and Vaccines System

The Algerian Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Ouacim Kouidri, received on Sunday, in Algiers, the World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Algeria, Phanuel Habimana. The two official reviewed the progress of the self-assessment workshop on Algeria’s national medicines and vaccines system, according to a ministry statement.

During the meeting, which is part of “efforts to reach Maturity Level 3 (ML3)” under this workshop, Professor Abdelhakim Boudis was tasked with overseeing the progress of the workshop, which includes stakeholders from several ministerial sectors and national bodies, such as the pharmaceutical industry and health sectors, alongside the National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products, the National Health Security Agency, Pasteur Institute of Algeria, the National Pharmacovigilance Centre for Medicines and Medical Equipment, the Atomic Energy Commission, and the National Blood Agency.

The two parties agreed that September would be the target date for completing the committee’s work and conducting the final assessment to obtain the Maturity Level 3 certificate (ML3), added the same source.
