Zionist violations of ceasefire in Lebanon increase risk of resumed confrontation

BEIRUT – Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem said the Lebanese armed group is ready to respond to repeated “Israeli” violations of the ceasefire agreed on last month, as the UN’s peacekeeping force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) accuses “Israel” of actions that “jeopardise” the truce.
By Saturday evening, “Israel” had committed 383 violations of the cease-fire agreement, resulting in 32 martyrs and 39 injuries, according to an Anadolu agency tally based on official Lebanese data.
According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), the violations occurred in the districts of Marjayoun, Nabatieh, and Bint Jbeil in the Nabatieh Governorate, as well as in the Tyre district in the South Governorate.
In the Marjayoun district, the Zionist forces advanced toward the town of Burj Al-Muluk and stationed near the Farah gas station before blocking the road with barbed wire.
“Israeli” incursions were also observed in the area between the towns of Odaisseh and Taybeh.
Additionally, the Zionist forces carried out demolitions of homes and buildings in the area extending between the towns of Taybeh and Rab Thalathin.
In parallel, “Israel” is reportedly preparing to notify the US of its intention to maintain a military presence in southern Lebanon beyond the 60-day timeframe set in the recent cease-fire deal, according to Hebrew media reports.
The source also stated that “Israel” plans to inform the U.S. that it will continue preventing residents of Lebanese villages near the border from returning to their homes.
The ceasefire agreement outlines key provisions, including a phased withdrawal of Zionist forces to the southern side of the Blue Line de facto border, the deployment of Lebanese military and security forces along the border, and the dismantling of unauthorised military sites in southern Lebanon.
