Algeria’s Arkab and Jordanian Counterpart Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Cooperation

Algiers, April 14, 2026 – the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab held talks on Tuesday with Jordan’s Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Saleh Ali Hamed Al Kharabsheh on ways and means of strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of hydrocarbons, according to a ministry statement.
The meeting, held via videoconference in the presence of the Jordanian Ambassador to Algiers and officials from the ministry, reviewed cooperation relations between the two countries in hydrocarbons, particularly efforts to enhance institutional partnerships and develop trade exchanges, notably in crude oil, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports.
Both sides also examined opportunities for cooperation regarding Jordan’s supply of these resources, as well as in the areas of distribution and storage of petroleum products.
The ministers further discussed developments in the international hydrocarbons market and its outlook, exchanging views on several issues of mutual interest, the statement added.
For his part, the Jordanian minister described the discussions as fruitful, expressing his country’s readiness to strengthen partnership relations with Algeria, intensify economic consultations, and expand the exchange of expertise in the service of mutual interests.
