Zionist Crimes in Occupied Palestine: Renewed Appeal to International Community

The Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations (UN), Riyad Mansour, has once again called upon the international community regarding the continued crimes and illegal policies of the Zionist entity in the occupied Palestinian territory, underscoring in particular the gravity of the situation in the Palestinian village of Ras Ein al-Auja.

In three identical letters sent on Tuesday to the UN Secretary-General, the President of the Security Council (Somalia), and the President of the UN General Assembly, Mansour conveyed the urgent appeal issued by Ras Ein al-Auja to the international community regarding the imminent threat of destruction facing the village.

He explained that “this threat stems from the escalation of attacks carried out by the occupation forces and heavily armed Zionist settlers against the residents, including acts of violence, intimidation, and the destruction of property aimed at forcibly expelling them from their land.” In this regard, the Palestinian diplomat urged the international community to give all necessary attention to the fate of Ras Ein al-Auja and all other Palestinian communities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Al-Quds, which are facing mounting existential threats as a result of the illegal occupation.

He also called for their “protection in accordance with international humanitarian law.” The urgent appeal attached to the letters reports that armed Zionist settlers have laid siege to 26 families in the village of Ras Ein al-Auja, destroyed the road leading to their homes, restricted their movement, and blocked the delivery of essential supplies, including water, food, and livestock feed, which constitute their main source of income.

It also notes that “Zionist settlers have demolished homes and given residents one week to leave the area, under extreme weather conditions, while assaulting children and preventing them from attending school.” In this regard, the appeal calls for immediate and effective measures to put an end to the attacks by settlers and Zionist occupation forces, to ensure urgent international protection for Palestinian civilians, particularly children and women, and to guarantee access to essential humanitarian aid, including water, food, medicines, and shelter.

It also calls for “those responsible for these flagrant violations of international humanitarian law and international conventions guaranteeing the protection of civilians living under occupation to be held accountable,” demanding “the immediate cessation of the forced displacement of the residents of Ras Ein al-Auja and the guarantee of their right to live in dignity and security.”
