Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has warned that Europe is rapidly heading toward a direct conflict with Russia, stating that “the war between Europe and Russia is becoming increasingly certain.” Speaking to Pink TV, Vucic said this was “not an empty story,” as “everyone in the EU is preparing for it.”
He expressed alarm over the accelerating rearmament of EU member states, particularly highlighting Germany’s plan to invest $436 billion in strengthening its military — an amount, he noted, equivalent to four years of Serbia’s GDP. Vucic added that Romania, Poland, and Finland are also pursuing similar large-scale military build-ups, warning that such developments “can only lead to war.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously stated that Moscow is carefully monitoring the growing militarization of Europe, accusing Western nations of inventing imaginary threats from Russia to justify their own buildup. He also reminded that past anti-Russian provocations have “always ended badly for those who started them.”
