Towards Stronger Algerian-British Cooperation in South (UK Embassy)

The strengthening of the cooperation between Algeria and the United Kingdom was the main focus of the talks held between British ambassador to Algeria, James Downer, and the local authorities of Tamanrasset province (1900 km south of Algiers), UK embassy in Algeria announced on Wednesday.
The two sides “discussed opportunities for stronger UK-Algeria cooperation in the South, including skills, investment, and economic development,” said the source.
Downer met, during an official visit to Tamanrasset, with the provinces’ governor Mohamed Boudraa and the President of People’s Provincial Assembly Bika Bkay.
“The UK looks forward to deepening partnership with this dynamic region,” said the UK embassy, focusing on “productive exchange with the Tamanrasset Chamber of Commerce and local entrepreneurs,” and highlighting opportunities to strengthen trade and investment.
