Thousands of Palestinians Flee Beit Lahia Amid Escalating Zionist Attacks and Siege

Under the intense bombardment and ongoing siege by the Zionist army, thousands of civilians in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza Strip, have been forced to flee their homes, leaving behind their families and facing unimaginable hardships. The Zionist forces stormed the last shelters in the area, detaining young men for investigation while women and children were made to walk over 10 kilometers towards Gaza City, with many of them carrying nothing but the clothes on their backs.

For nearly two months, residents in northern Gaza endured bombings, starvation, and relentless aggression. Despite enduring these atrocities, they refused to evacuate until the zionist military intensified its attacks. As of Monday, over 3,700 civilians had been killed or gone missing in the northern Gaza Strip, with nearly 10,000 others injured and approximately 1,750 arrested. Forced displacement reached a critical point when the Zionist forces evacuated the last shelters, with many displaced people seeking refuge in Abu Tamam Schools, only to face more threats of violence from Zionist forces.

The journey of displacement has been marked by hunger, thirst, and trauma. The Al-Basyouni family, who had endured the siege for 60 days, were finally forced to flee after the father and sons were arrested by zionist soldiers. “We suffered from a lack of food and water, and the targeting was more severe than ever,” said Nagham Al-Basyouni, a member of the family.

Palestinian families continue to live in fear, with the fate of their detained relatives unknown. Witnesses report that the Zionist forces used loudspeakers to warn displaced families to evacuate, threatening them with forced expulsion. These harrowing stories highlight the escalating suffering of Palestinians under occupation.
