Third International Conference of Constitutional Court opens in Algiers

The 3rd International Conference on “The Role of Constitutional Review in the Protection of Rights and Freedoms in Algeria and Comparative Systems” opened on Tuesday at “Abdellatif Rahal” International Conference Centre, in Algiers, with the participation of judges and constitutional experts from Algeria and several countries.
The forum—running until May 7—is held under the high patronage of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and is organized at the initiative of the Constitutional Court, in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme.
The opening session will feature the presentation of the preliminary report, along with remarks from several participants. The proceedings will then continue through specialized academic sessions dedicated to discussing issues of rights and freedoms, as well as mechanisms of constitutional oversight in comparative systems.
