Sultan of Oman Begins State Visit to Algeria

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman begins a two-day state visit to Algeria on Sunday, during which he will be received by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in a summit meeting that reflects the strength of bilateral relations—ties the two leaders have agreed to enhance in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries and their peoples.

During the state visit of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to Oman last October, which lasted three days, both leaders emphasized in a joint statement their commitment to further developing cooperation across all sectors in ways that serve the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples. They also called on all relevant parties and sectors to strengthen communication and increase exchanges of visits to ensure the effective implementation of joint initiatives and programs.

The Algerian president’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman laid the foundations for establishing joint partnerships and projects, including the creation of a joint Omani-Algerian investment fund and the signing of eight memoranda of understanding in various sectors, which include investment promotion, organizing exhibitions, events, and conferences, education, higher education, environment and sustainable development, financial services, employment and training, and media.
