Algeria and Japan Agree to Boost Bilateral Partnership

ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held talks on Sunday with Japan’s Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hisashi Matsumoto, who is on an official visit to Algeria, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
This visit comes within the framework of the first session of the Algerian-Japanese Joint Governmental Economic Committee, which was co-chaired by the Japanese Vice-Minister and the Secretary-General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, the statement said.
The meeting served as an opportunity to review the outcomes of the Algerian-Japanese Joint Governmental Economic Committee and to reaffirm the importance of strengthening joint efforts to further boost the economic dimension of the partnership, in line with the development priorities and objectives of both countries, the source added.
The two sides also discussed a number of current international and regional issues, with a particular focus on the latest developments in the Palestinian cause.
