
Sonatrach Group announced that its subsidiary, the “Algerian Energy Company” (AEC), has been renamed the “Algerian Desalination Company” (ADC).
This strategic move aims to enhance national water security and strengthen Algeria’s desalination industry, according to a statement from Sonatrach.
The name change aligns with the directives of the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, marking a significant milestone in the company’s journey.
It reflects a qualitative leap, building on over two decades of achievements in seawater desalination, supported consistently by the Sonatrach Group and the Algerian State, the statement said.
This initiative responds to a global context marked by growing water security challenges, underscoring the need for innovative and sustainable solutions.
The Algerian Desalination Company (ADC) will continue to advance its seawater desalination activities, focusing on scientific research, mastery of modern technologies, and improvements in energy efficiency.
The company is committed to ensuring the sustainability, operation, and maintenance of vital infrastructure, the statement added.
