Saudi Arabia welcomes request from Yemen’s presidential council for forum to resolve southern issue

Saudi Arabia on Saturday welcomed a request by the President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad al-Alimi, for a comprehensive conference to discuss “just solutions” to the southern Yemen issue.

In a statement, the Saudi foreign ministry called on southern factions to participate in the forum to “formulate a comprehensive vision for fair solutions to the southern cause”.

Al-Alimi said he hopes the forum would bring together all southern factions “without distinction”.
