President Tebboune: Algeria to Contribute 1 Million Dollars Voluntarily to APRM

ADDIS ABABA, February 14, 2025 – Algeria President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced on Friday at the African Union (AU) headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, that Algeria has decided to make a voluntary contribution of one million dollars to support the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
“Building on Algeria’s commitment to enhancing the APRM and enabling it to fulfill its mission, my country has resolved to provide a voluntary contribution of one million dollars to assist in the evaluation process, in accordance with the resulting conclusions,” stated the President during his address at the 34th summit of Heads of State and Government of the APRM, where he served as chair.
Emphasizing that “today’s meeting represents a crucial step towards promoting governance and advancing efforts to achieve sustainable solutions to the challenges confronting the continent,” the President reaffirmed “Algeria’s commitment, as a founding member of this mechanism, to activate its role in addressing current issues, particularly regarding the establishment of the rule of law, combating corruption, and promoting social justice and human rights.”
The President further noted that these challenges “compel us to work together in a spirit of solidarity and responsibility to overcome the financial obstacles that impede the APRM’s ability to attain the noble objectives for which it was established.”
