Polisario Front Reviews Sahrawi Issue and UN Engagement Ahead of de Mistura’s Visit

The Permanent Bureau of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front reviewed the latest developments in the Sahrawi issue and the ongoing engagement with the United Nations, particularly in light of the upcoming visit of UN Secretary-General’s Personal Envoy, Staffan de Mistura.
In a statement issued after its meeting, chaired by Secretary-General Brahim Ghali, the bureau assessed the progress made in implementing the decisions of the latest session of the National Secretariat. It also examined interactions with the UN regarding the anticipated visit of de Mistura, which comes at a critical time for the Sahrawi cause.
The bureau also expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere of unity and resilience in which the Sahrawi people celebrated Eid al-Fitr, reaffirming their dedication to the struggle for independence. The statement praised the spirit of sacrifice and solidarity shown during the celebrations, emphasizing the values of piety, unity, and resistance against division as fundamental principles guiding the Sahrawi people’s aspirations.
