Outcomes of the Algerian Cabinet Meeting

ALGIERS – The Algerian President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Minister of Defense, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, chaired a Cabinet meeting on Monday, discussing a draft law on endowments, as well as presentations on the launch of 5G mobile networks and the results of the general agricultural census, the Algerian Presidency said in a statement.

Following the Prime Minister’s presentation on the government’s activities over the past two weeks and the ministers’ interventions, the Algerian President issued the following orders, instructions, and directives:

Regarding the draft law on endowments:

After discussion and the Cabinet’s approval of the draft law on endowments, the Algerian President ordered the adoption of digitalization mechanisms at all stages of the census for the endowments in the religious affairs sector.

Regarding the presentation on the progress of digitalization:

After receiving a detailed update from the High Commissioner for Digitalization on the progress of the comprehensive digitalization project, the President set the end of 2025 as the deadline for a complete census of state assets across the country, to establish a database before the preparation of the 2026 Finance Law begins.

Regarding the presentation on the launch of 5G mobile networks:

The Algerian President ordered a comprehensive and in-depth study on this type of mobile service to ensure that the process is fully integrated and effective, both technologically and financially. The aim is to achieve positive outcomes for the development and support of the national economic system, while also delivering the best and highest-quality technological services to citizens.

Regarding the results of the general agricultural census:

The Algerian President emphasized the critical importance of this census in making the most appropriate decisions, modernizing the agricultural sector, and strengthening its strategic role in achieving food security. In this regard, the President instructed the Minister of Agriculture to thoroughly verify the census of all national agricultural products, including livestock by type and their distribution across the country, as well as the progress in irrigated land and the number of fruit-bearing trees, particularly olive and date palm trees, throughout the national territory.

According to the statement, the Cabinet meeting concluded with the approval of bilateral cooperation agreements.
