Morocco’s Affabulations Know no Bounds

Algeria’s diplomatic engagement with Syria has triggered a wave of disinformation from Morocco, revealing its deep frustration over the visit of Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf.

Unable to hide their distress, Moroccan propaganda outlets and social media operatives have resorted to fabricating outrageous claims, demonstrating their reliance on deception as a political tool. These orchestrated campaigns, rooted in falsehoods, aim to distort Algeria’s diplomatic efforts, yet they ultimately expose the kingdom’s growing unease with Algeria’s expanding influence.

One of the most absurd narratives pushed by Moroccan disinformation agents involves imaginary claims that Algerian soldiers and Polisario Front fighters were allegedly detained in Syria and that Ahmed Attaf requested their release during his visit—an event that never happened.

This follows previous fabrications suggesting Algeria’s military presence in Syria, all of which collapse under scrutiny. The kingdom appears to be entangled in its own web of lies, repeating falsehoods in the hope that they will be accepted as truth, reminiscent of the infamous propaganda tactics of Joseph Goebbels.

In reality, the meeting between Ahmed Attaf and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa was marked by strong diplomatic reaffirmations, focusing on Algeria’s steadfast support for Syria’s sovereignty, stability, and reconstruction efforts. While Moroccan media obsesses over Algeria’s every move, Algerian diplomacy remains steadfast in its mission, unfazed by baseless provocations.
