LISBON – A mass demonstration took place in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, demanding an end to the Zionist genocidal war waged against the Palestinian people and calling on the Portuguese government to officially recognize the State of Palestine.

Among the participants were several prominent Portuguese figures, including the leader of the Portuguese Communist Party and the coordinator of the Left Bloc, alongside a large number of activists and citizens.

The demonstration was organized by multiple associations, including the Portuguese Movement for the Rights of Palestinian People and for Peace in the Middle East (MPPM), the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation (CPPC), the General Confederation of Portuguese Workers and the Portuguese Communist Party.

Demonstrators chanted slogans calling for peace, justice and an end to the Zionist occupation of the Palestinian Territory.

The coordinator of the Left Bloc also called for a firm stance against the occupation’s policies and to ensure the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
