Commissioned by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of African Affairs, Selma Bakhta Mansouri, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Gabon, Brice Oligui Nguema, which took place on Saturday, in the capital, Libreville.
The ceremony was attended by sixteen heads of state and government, along with a number of high-ranking officials and official delegations, reflecting the regional and international interest in this important political event in the Republic of Gabon, according to the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The inauguration followed the presidential elections held on April 12, in which President Nguema was elected, bringing an end to a 19-month transitional period. It also marked Gabon’s return to constitutional order and the resumption of its engagement with regional institutions, particularly the African Union.
