Kremlin: Putin–Araghchi Talks Carry Major Geopolitical Weight for Middle East Stability

The upcoming meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi carries significant geopolitical importance amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He stated that the discussions come as the United States and the Zionist entity continue an economic war on Iran, underscoring the broader regional implications of the talks.

Peskov indicated that the meeting is expected to focus on the conflict dynamics in the region, diplomatic coordination between Moscow and Tehran, and the evolving balance of power in the Middle East. The dialogue is viewed as part of ongoing consultations between the two countries on key international security issues.

The talks are scheduled to take place in Saint Petersburg, where President Putin is working on Monday. His agenda also includes meetings with city governor Alexander Beglov and upper house speaker Valentina Matviyenko, an address to the Council of Legislators, as well as a visit to the Anatoly Rakhlin Olympic reserve school.
