Kallas: “Israeli” strikes into Syria and Lebanon risk further escalation

EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned on Monday that “Israeli” strikes on Syria and Lebanon threatened to worsen the situation in the region.
“Israeli strikes into Syria and Lebanon risk further escalation,” Kallas said in occupied Jerusalem.
In Lebanon, the Zionist occupation conducted an attack on Saturday, in the most intense escalation since a November ceasefire, killing at least seven people, and injuring 40 others, according to the Lebanese Health Ministry.
The Zionist occupation’s artillery and airstrikes hit southern Lebanon after claiming that it intercepted three rockets launched from the area. Hezbollah, however, denied having “any link” to the rocket launches and reiterated its commitment to the U.S.-backed ceasefire.
On Friday, the Zionist forces launched hundreds of strikes on strategic military assets in central Syria. These airstrikes are part of a continued campaign of near-daily assaults over the past few months, causing civilian casualties and destroying military sites, equipment, and ammunition belonging to the Syrian army.
Moreover, the Zionist occupation seized territory in Syrian-controlled areas of the Golan Heights, after Benjamin Netanyahu ordered his forces to grab a buffer zone established by a 1974 ceasefire agreement with Syria.
Syria’s foreign ministry has accused “Israel” of waging a campaign against “the stability of the country”.
