ALGIERS, April 21, 2026 – The ICT Africa Summit, a major continental event aimed at accelerating digital transformation in Africa and strengthening Algeria’s position as a strategic technology hub, opened on Tuesday in Algiers.
Organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Start-ups and Micro-enterprises, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Vocational Training and Education, the summit is being held under the theme: “Unlocking Digital Horizons”, at the Palais des Expositions (SAFEX) until Thursday, .
The program of this continental event includes sessions, workshops, and presentations on the latest technological solutions, B2B meetings, a competition dedicated to African startups, as well as an international exhibition bringing together companies, institutions, and research centers.
The summit brings together decision-makers, entrepreneurs, investors, academic experts, researchers, representatives of several national institutions, and startup founders around a common objective: accelerating digital transformation in Africa.
This edition revolves around four main thematic forums addressing the challenges of digital transformation, including the modernization of healthcare systems, the development of digital administration, the strengthening of smart mobility solutions, and the acceleration of digitalization in the energy sector, based on an integrated and operational technological approach.
In this context, the event also highlights several strategic issues such as digital sovereignty, cybersecurity, smart cities, fintech, agritech, digital education, and industry.
This edition follows the notable success of the 2025 event, which attracted more than 15,000 visitors and 150 exhibitors, reflecting the growing interest in the summit as a key platform for innovation and technological cooperation in Africa.
