Gaza: Zionist Aggression Destroys 264 Archaeological Sites, 4,992 Tourist Facilities

The Spokesperson for the Palestinian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, Jiries Qumsieh, stated that the Zionist occupation has destroyed, both totally and partially, 264 archaeological sites and 4,992 tourist facilities in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported on Wednesday.
Qumsieh highlighted that despite this widespread destruction, the Ministry successfully secured the inscription of the “Saint Hilarion” site in Gaza on UNESCO’s World Heritage in Danger list.
He further noted that the destruction targeted a wide range of tourism establishments, including 3,450 restaurants, 921 arts and entertainment facilities, 182 handicraft and souvenir shops, and 173 hotels and accommodation centers.
In the same context, he emphasized the loss of 15,265 jobs in the Gaza Strip alone, specifically 10,887 in the restaurant sector, 2,277 in arts and entertainment, and 964 in accommodation and hotel facilities.
