Gaza: Nearly 12,000 Students Killed Since October 7

The Palestinian Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday that 11,852 students have been killed and nearly 18,959 others injured since the onset of the genocidal Zionist aggression against the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023.
“The number of students who have fallen as martyrs in the Gaza Strip since the onset of the Zionist assault on October 7, 2023, has reached 11,852, while the number of those injured has risen to 18,959,” the ministry stated in a release reported by the Wafa news agency.
The ministry further noted that “560 teachers and administrators have also been martyred, and 729 others have sustained injuries during this period.”
Additionally, it highlighted that “362 government schools and 65 schools operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) have been bombed and vandalized throughout the Gaza Strip.”
Moreover, the ministry confirmed that “718,000 students in the Gaza Strip remain deprived of access to their schools,” emphasizing that “most of them are suffering from psychological trauma and severe health issues.”
