EU Foreign Policy Chief Stresses Importance of U.S. as Europe’s Strongest Ally Amid Trump’s Return

Amid growing concerns over the new foreign policy direction the United States may take under former President Donald Trump’s potential return to the White House, EU Foreign Affairs Chief, Kaja Kallas, emphasized the necessity for Washington to remain a strong ally to Europe.

In remarks made on Wednesday, Kallas highlighted the importance of the European Union responding to Trump’s calls for increased defense spending. She warned of the ongoing threats from Russia and affirmed that the EU must prioritize defense investments.

Kallas also acknowledged that Trump was correct in stating that Europe is not investing enough in defense, stressing that now is the time for greater financial commitment to security.

She reiterated the need for the U.S. to remain Europe’s “strongest ally”
