The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, “unequivocally” condemned on Tuesday the statements of the Zionist Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, that 2025 will be the “year of annexation” of the occupied West Bank.
“Such statements undermine international law, violate the rights of the Palestinians, and threaten the possibility of a two-state solution,” Borrell posted on X.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also expressed its “strong” condemnation of the Zionist Minister’s statement, and called on the international community to recognise the State of Palestine, support its full membership in the United Nations, and take the necessary steps to end the Zionist occupation and its illegal colonial settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.
The OIC called for the implementation of the two-state solution, based on international law, the International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on the illegality of the Zionist occupation, and the relevant UN General Assembly resolution.
