El-Djeich magazine: Algeria shall remain proud, strong, and secure as long as there are loyal patriots

ALGIERS – Algeria’s El-Djeich magazine emphasized in its latest editorial that the great victories our country has achieved throughout its glorious journey were forged by the indomitable will of its noble people and a valiant army, with a constant endeavour to keep the ranks tightly aligned and resilient, and a firm conviction that national unity is the bedrock and steadfast guarantee for safeguarding the homeland and strengthening the pillars of its security, stability and progress.

The editorial titled, “Our Unity, Our Strength”, highlighted that “the history of our country is rich with glorious milestones and memorable journeys that forged Algeria’s glory and pride, and shaped the features of its future. Foremost among them stands the outbreak of our Glorious Liberation Revolution on 1st November 1954, the 71st anniversary of which we are commemorating this year.”

“It is an eternal epic, inscribed by the resilient Algerian people in letters of gold, destined to remain forever engraved in the annals of human history as one of the greatest liberation revolution the world has known. Its resonance echoed through every corner of the earth, thanks to its righteous sons, who embodied a blazing genius, a profound belief in the justice of their cause, and an unwavering determination to reclaim freedom and independence, whatever the cost, whatever the sacrifice,” the editorial said.

“Indeed, Allah has blessed our homeland with patriotic and devoted men who sacrificed all that was dear and precious for the sake of their country’s glory. So that, through their noble deeds, they remain immortal in the memory of successive generations. How could it be otherwise, when they are the great figures of November, who sparked the eternal flame of liberation that still burns brightly in the hearts of Algerians,” it added.

“From popular resistance to political struggle, culminating in our glorious Revolution, they wrote history with their own hands, shaping it according to their will, their aspirations, and their unwavering determination. They paved the way for a brighter future; not only for Algeria, but for all peoples who have endured injustice, oppression, exploitation, and humiliation. They stood defiant against the arrogance and brutality of a ruthless colonial power that sought, through despicable means, to keep the Algerian people shackled in servitude and tyranny. In doing so, it committed the most horrific rituals of torture, repression, and cruelty that time cannot erase, nor history absolve,” the source noted.

The editorial added that “as we commemorate this cherished occasion, one that holds a special place in the hearts of all Algerians, we do so with deep pride and reverence, recalling the noble values, lofty principles, and remarkable virtues of our glorious ancestors. Their legacy compels us to follow in their footsteps and uphold their path, fully aware that their triumphs and aspirations were only achieved through unity, cohesion, harmony, and unwavering solidarity around a single objective: the restoration of national sovereignty.”

“These are the very same values that Algerians today continue to embody and fiercely protect, as demonstrated by their widespread mobilisation and strong participation in the nationwide tree-planting campaign held across our national territory on 25th October of this year,” the source said.

This act sent a powerful message to the whole world, “that we are one body, one heart, and that our unity is the pillar of our strength, the force that empowers us to build a new Algeria victorious, strong, flourishing, and secure.”

This unity “is all the more vital in light of the current regional and international tensions, and the secret and public conspiracies against our country, and the malicious plots that seek to undermine our homeland’s security, stability, and the peace of its people.”

As Mr President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of National Defence, affirmed: “On this 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the Glorious Liberation Revolution, we proudly celebrate the legacy of generations who fought relentless battles across every corner of Algeria. Let our faithfulness to their sacrifices be a source of resolute determination, and a genuine wellspring from which a collective consciousness; rooted in our glorious history, draws strength. It is the compass guiding Algeria, in this delicate phase, toward consolidating the foundations of a rising national state, and toward rekindling the patriotic spirit that unites the will of devoted citizens, and for the nation’s dynamic forces, especially its youth, to ensure the country’s immunity against the turbulent situations in its regional environment, amid the fierce conflicts affecting today’s world.”

“The great victories our country has achieved throughout its glorious journey were forged by the indomitable will of its noble people and a valiant army. With a constant endeavour to keep the ranks tightly aligned and resilient, and a firm conviction that national unity is the bedrock and steadfast guarantee for safeguarding the homeland and strengthening the pillars of its security, stability and progress. It is a unit that has always, as it is today, the crucible of genuine patriotism, in which the Algerian people have fused with their People’s National Army, worthy heir to the National Liberation Army, that safeguarded the legacy and honoured the trust. This Army has always stood as the loyal servant of the homeland and its proud people, who, through their unity and solidarity with their Army, embody a unique model of cohesion, fraternity, and selflessness,” the magazine’s editorial said, adding that “this enables our country to rise to all challenges and confront every threat, regardless of its nature or origin.”

This was underscored by Mr General Saïd Chanegriha, Delegate Minister to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of People’s National Army Staff, who stated: “In order to consolidate the popular character of our valiant Army, we, in People’s National Army, have sought and continue to seek, to continuously strengthen the people’s trust in their Army. It is through this trust, and through it alone, that Algeria acquires immunity and prestige that shield it from all dangers and threats, rendering it impervious to plots, conspiracies, and malicious manoeuvres of its enemies.”

“Those who delve deeply into the folds of our glorious history will readily realise that the restoration of our national sovereignty came at a steep price; paid by millions of honourable Algerians who offered the highest sacrifices throughout the long night of colonial oppression,” the editorial said.

“These sacrifices were carried forward by our valiant heroes, the Chouhada of national duty, who never wavered in defending the security and stability of our country against the barbaric terrorism that Algeria ultimately succeeded in defeating and eradicating. Algeria shall remain proud, strong, and secure as long as there are loyal patriots, among them the sons and daughters of People’s National Army, stationed vigilantly along the country’s front-lines and vast borders, fulfilling their duties to the fullest,” the source added.

The editorial stressed that “with steadfast confidence and determination, they continue to develop the capabilities of our armed forces, drawing strength from their deep-rooted popular support. Their sole purpose is to safeguard the legacy entrusted to us by our righteous Chouhada, whose spirits hover around us, bearing witness to our fidelity to the promise and our fulfilment of the pledge.”
