Chief of Staff of the Algerian Army presides over the inauguration of new healthcare facilities

Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, presided on Saturday over the inauguration of new healthcare facilities in the 1st Military Region.

This comes as part of the ongoing celebrations commemorating the 71st anniversary of the Glorious November Revolution, the Algerian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

After the welcome ceremony given at the Central Army Hospital of Ain Naadja by the Commander of the 1st Military Region, in the presence of Major Generals, Generals of the ministry and the PNA Staff, the Army General followed a detailed presentation by the Central Director of Military Healthcare Services on the new facilities to be inaugurated, which are part of healthcare projects aimed at improving the performance of hospitals and the level of healthcare services offered, the statement said.

The Army General further supervised “the commissioning of two medical services at the Central Army Hospital, after being fitted with new medical equipment. He listened to detailed explanations provided by the managers of these services.”

The Army General “closely inspected the hyperbaric service, which offers the most therapeutic methods for the treatment of hypertension by means of oxygen therapy, as well as that of nuclear medicine, recently equipped with a new PET-scan and PET-MRI unit.”

“This unit, specialized in molecular imaging, integrates the latest generation devices, allowing doctors and specialists to establish an accurate diagnosis regarding the location and nature of the disease,” the source said, noting that “these two services, built in alignment with international health standards, and outfitted with modern and high-performance equipment, offer quality medical services to patients, thus contributing to the improvement of their care conditions.”

In Blida, the Army General, accompanied by the Commander of the 1st Military Region and the Central Director of Military Health Services, supervised the inauguration of the Regional Mixed University Military Hospital, which will provide medical care for military personnel and civilians.”

Subsequently, the Army General followed “a detailed presentation by the general director of the hospital on the different components of the hospital, its reception capacity and the advanced medical equipment it features, in addition to the quality of qualified medical and administrative human resources that supervise all the services of this important military healthcare facility,” the statement added.

Army General Chanegriha toured the departments of the hospital, where “detailed explanations were given to him on the medical and surgical services offered by the hospital.”

On this occasion, the Army General held a meeting with the military healthcare staff and personnel, where he delivered a guidance speech followed, via videoconference, by the personnel of Military Health from the six Military Regions and through which he emphasized that the inauguration of these new healthcare facilities is part of the celebrations of the 71st anniversary of the glorious November Revolution, and in tribute to the courageous women and men who shaped the glory and pride of Algeria.

“As part of the celebrations commemorating the 71st anniversary of the outbreak of the glorious Revolution, and out of loyalty to the message of our valiant martyrs, and in fulfilment of our duty to strengthen the capabilities of our valiant army, I am happy today to visit the First Military Region and to inaugurate new healthcare facilities, like the Regional Mixed University Military Hospital of Blida, as well as several new medical services within the Army Central Hospital,” Army General Chanegriha said.

“On the occasion of this honorable national commemoration, we must draw inspiration from the sincerity and devotion of these courageous women and men who shaped the glory and pride of Algeria. As loyal Algerians, we must let their example guide us to pursue the highest standards of excellence, professionalism and commitment in our work,” he added.

The Army General emphasized that these achievements testify to the unwavering determination that drives the High Command to continue adapting the military healthcare system to the new requirements of the armed forces and to emerging health challenges.

“In this respect, it is worth noting that the progress already achieved in military healthcare, as well as ongoing projects, clearly reflects the special attention that the President of the Republic, Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense, attaches to the military healthcare sector,” he said, adding that “these milestones are striking evidence of our unwavering commitment to achieving our goals , especially the ongoing modernization of our military healthcare system to meet new demands and emerging health challenges.”

“We have also ensured to provide the qualified human resources necessary for our healthcare facilities, capable of managing specialized medical departments and operating modern medical equipment, whether they are general practitioners, specialists, surgeons, nurses or highly trained technicians, in order to ensure the highest levels of healthcare for personnel and rights’ holders.”
