The African Ministerial Conference on Local Pharmaceutical Production and Health Technologies continues on Saturday for the third and final day, with a program that includes meetings between African ministers to discuss avenues of cooperation in areas of mutual interest, as well as field visits by participating delegations to pharmaceutical production facilities in the Algerian capital.
The conference is organized by the Algerian Ministry of Pharmaceutical Industry and the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization, under the theme: ‘Local Pharmaceutical Industry for an Integrated and Strong Africa.’
The Algeria Health Care Exhibition, held on the sidelines of the conference, continues its activities and will culminate with the signing of several agreements between Algerian participants and their counterparts from other African countries.
On Friday, participants adopted the ‘Algiers Declaration,’ establishing a shared framework to strengthen the continent’s health sovereignty by coordinating efforts to develop Africa’s pharmaceutical industry and reduce reliance on imports.
