Algeria’s UN Ambassador Awarded the National Merit Order medal, Rank of ‘Achir’

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, presided on Saturday in New York over the ceremony of awarding the Permanent Representative of Algeria to the United Nations, Ambassador Amar Benjama, with the medal of the Order of National Merit (rank of El Achir), as commissioned by the Algerian President.

“The President of the Republic, recipient of the medal of the Order of National Merit at the rank of ‘Sadr’, decided to award Ambassador Amar Benjama this medal in recognition of his competence, dedication, and devotion in representing Algeria at the United Nations, and in acknowledgment of his defense of just causes in the world, foremost among them the Palestinian cause and the Sahrawi cause,” the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

In this regard, Ambassador Benjama expressed his deep gratitude and sincere appreciation to the President of the Republic for this honor, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to continue serving Algeria with dedication and loyalty under the President’s esteemed leadership, in defense of the nation’s interests and in elevating its voice on the international stage.
