Algerian Presidential Election : National Press Highlights Key Electoral Promise

During the seventh day of the Algerian presidential campaign, the candidates—Youcef Aouchiche of the Socialist Forces Front, independent Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and Abdelaali Hassani Cherif of the Movement of Society for Peace (MSP)—engaged in intensive outreach efforts. El Massa reported that each candidate emphasized different aspects of their platforms: Aouchiche called for public mobilization for change, Tebboune’s supporters advocated for his continued reforms, and Hassani Cherif urged citizens to vote to thwart external threats.
Echaâb described the first six days as “calm,” with candidates focusing on convincing voters of their programs. Horizons highlighted the ongoing “battle of programs,” noting that while candidates differ on governance, they all stress the importance of social stability.
El Badil noted that the campaign is characterized by promises and public rallies. El Moudjahid emphasized that equitable distribution of wealth is a central theme in the candidates’ programs.
L’Echo d’Algérie reported that Tebboune aims to strengthen the economy, Hassani Cherif promises to use national wealth for development and food security, and Aouchiche prioritizes social issues.
Le Jour d’Algérie highlighted the enthusiastic support for Tebboune, with various groups backing his candidacy to continue reforms. Aouchiche focused on encouraging voter participation, while Hassani Cherif called for a “general mobilization” in an exceptional climate.
e-Bourse noted the Algerian diaspora’s involvement in debates about the candidates’ programs. La Voie d’Algérie and others emphasized the candidates’ calls for high voter turnout and focus on social support and economic development. El Khabar and Echourouk observed a consensus among candidates on foreign policy issues, particularly support for Palestine and Western Sahara.
