Algerian President: The state continues to mobilize resources to secure national interests with vigilant political will

ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed on Tuesday that the state continues to mobilize resources to secure the country’s supreme national interests and strengthen the internal front with a national consciousness, driven by a proactive political will and vigilance toward the complexities of the regional situation and its potential consequences.

In a message marking the 63rd anniversary of Victory Day (March 19), President Tebboune emphasised that the state is committed to adapting to changes in international relations, in line with Algeria’s geopolitical weight, role, and place, and in harmony with the values and principles of the glorious liberation revolution.

“We celebrate Victory Day on the 19th of March, a day that immortalizes Algeria’s glorious history as a culmination of decades of struggle under the banner of the national movement and the War of Liberation. This war, which the Algerian people fought for over seven years, became a defining chapter in their consciousness, driven by the undeniable need for armed resistance. The spark was ignited by a generation of nationalists, who had been forged through a long and arduous journey of awakening, preparing for the promised day. This ultimately led to the decisive moment when they chose to issue the groundbreaking November 1st statement, which struck fear into the occupying settlers and marked the beginning of the inspiring liberation revolution on November 1st, 1954,” the message read.

“It was, indeed, one of the largest and most monumental revolutions against colonialism, and one of the most sincere and noble struggles of peoples against tyranny and domination in modern history. It will forever stand as a testament to the Algerian people’s unwavering commitment to freedom and as a symbol of the dignity and honour of nations,” it added.

“Just as the martyrs were infinitely generous toward their homeland, displaying unwavering resolve and pride in selflessness and love for the country, the Algerian men and women who inherited and preserved this legacy are today building their nation with the same spirit and determination. Guided by the same principles and values, they never compromise or exploit them for personal gain. They are driven by a strong will to build and develop, laying the foundations for a modern state through an economic policy that attracts investment and wealth. This is reflected in the infrastructure projects that fuel development and the achievements and successes of the youth through pioneering investment initiatives. These efforts are part of a strategy focused on optimizing national resources, using them for sustainable development, and ensuring continuous social progress to guarantee a decent life for all citizens. This is a period in which the state continues to mobilize its resources to secure the country’s highest national interests,” the President said.

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasized that “with this authentic national direction, we celebrate Victory Day in victorious Algeria, remaining ever loyal to the noble martyrs, fully committed to the trust of the great Algerian people, and sincerely dedicated to serving our beloved homeland.”
