Algerian President Announces Judiciary Organic Law to Be Issued Before Year’s End

ALGIERS – The Algerian President, Chairman of the High Judicial Council, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, announced on Sunday that the Organic Law on the Judiciary will be issued before the end of 2025.
Speaking at the opening ceremony for the new judicial year (2025-2026), at the Supreme Court headquarters, the President said that the Organic Law on the Judiciary will be issued before the end of this year.
The President said “Recognizing the vital role of the judiciary, we have consistently directed the government to properly support the justice sector’s employees and continue efforts to uphold ethical standards in the judicial work and enhance its quality and effectiveness,” stressing the importance of “meeting judges’ essential needs so they can fully devote themselves to their duties.”
After extending thanks and gratitude to the judiciary family for its achievements, President Tebboune reaffirmed “his strong commitment to providing all necessary material and human resources to establish an independent and impartial justice system that truly embodies the rule of law, a commitment we owe to the proud Algerian people and our noble martyrs.”
In this regard, he underlined that the opening of the judicial year is “an opportunity to assess the judicial institution’s progress, thanks to the reforms we’ve undertaken to build an independent, impartial, and effective judiciary.”
