Algerian Foreign Ministry summons French ambassador and delivers a “strongly worded” message

ALGIERS – The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the French Ambassador to Algeria, Stéphane Romatet, on Sunday, according to the Algerian newspaper El Moudjahid.

Citing reliable diplomatic sources, the newspaper reported that the summons followed confirmation of French intelligence agencies’ direct involvement in efforts to destabilise Algeria.

The same source confirmed that the Algerian move was aimed at informing Paris of the Algerian authorities’ firm rejection of what they considered repeated attempts to target Algeria’s sovereignty, emphasising that France’s provocative actions would not go unanswered.
