ALGIERS, April 21, 2026 – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Tuesday the Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLACDE), Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans, who is on an official visit to Algeria, according to a statement from the ministry.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review the state of cooperation with this regional organization, in which Algeria holds observer status, and to examine prospects for strengthening it in line with the potential and expertise available to Algeria and its partners in Latin America and the Caribbean, both in conventional energy resources and in the field of renewable energy, the statement specified.
The two sides also exchanged “views on developments in global energy markets” and discussed ways to enhance South-South cooperation, particularly through increased coordination in international forums related to energy, the same source added.
