Algerian FM Holds Talks with Chadian Counterpart

ALGIERS, April 21, 2026 – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held talks on Tuesday in Algiers with the Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad of the Republic of Chad, Abdallah Saber Fadl, prior to co-chairing the 4th session of the Algeria–Chad Joint Governmental Commission, according to a ministry statement.

On this occasion, the two ministers reviewed the various dimensions of the brotherly relations and cooperation between Algeria and the Republic of Chad, as well as prospects for further elevating them to the highest possible levels, in line with the directives of the leaders of the two countries, the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his counterpart, President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno.

The two sides also discussed, in consultation and coordination, a number of issues of common interest, notably the current situation in their immediate neighborhood in the Sahel region, developments in the Middle East, as well as the latest developments in the Palestinian cause.
