Algerian Army Eliminates Three Moroccan Armed Smugglers, Captures Fourth

Joint detachments of the People’s National Army (PNA) eliminated three armed smugglers of Moroccan nationality and arrested a fourth on Wednesday evening in the Ghenama region, province of Bechar (3rd Military Region). The individuals had attempted to take advantage of the current weather conditions to carry out criminal activities, according to a statement issued Thursday by the Ministry of National Defense (MDN).
“As part of border security and the fight against smuggling and organized crime, and following an ambush in the Ghannama region of Bechar, joint detachments of the People’s National Army, the Border Guard, and Algerian Customs eliminated three (03) armed smugglers of Moroccan nationality, namely (Adda Abdallah), (Azza Mohamed), and (Serfaka Kandousi), and arrested a fourth smuggler, named Azza Mimoune, of the same nationality,” said the source.
The statement noted that the group had “attempted to take advantage of the weather conditions currently affecting several regions of the country to carry out their criminal activities.” The operation led to the seizure of 74 kg of cannabis, one hunting rifle, one pair of binoculars, four mobile phones, and various other items.
This operation “once again confirms the vigilance of all units of the People’s National Army and sends a strong message to anyone who dares to violate national territory or undermine its integrity and security,” the statement concluded.
