Algeria to Increase Oil Production by 4,000 Barrels per Day in November

ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Hydrocarbons and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, participated on Sunday via video conference in a ministerial meeting that included eight countries from the “OPEC+” group concerned with implementing voluntary adjustments to crude oil production.
This ministerial meeting was also attended by the oil ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, and Russia. In addition to the CEO of Sonatrach, Rachid Hachichi, the Chairman of the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources, Samir Bekhti, and senior officials from the sector.
At the conclusion of the discussions, which lasted no more than nine minutes, an agreement was reached to increase production by a total of 137,000 barrels per day starting in November 2025. As for Algeria, it will see an increase of 4,000 barrels per day during the same month, the Algerian Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
In this regard, Arkab affirmed that “the decision taken by the eight member countries of the “OPEC+” group reflects a cautious and balanced approach aimed at maintaining market stability, while ensuring the necessary flexibility to adapt to developments in the global economic situation,” the statement said.
He explained that the moderate production increase scheduled for November comes in a context marked by ongoing uncertainty. While global demand for oil remains strong, it may experience a slowdown in its growth rate over the coming months, the source added.
The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular coordination through monthly meetings, which will allow for continuous monitoring of market developments and ensure the effective implementation of the agreed measures, the statement said, adding that the next ministerial meeting of the eight OPEC+ countries is scheduled to take place on November 2, 2025.
