Algeria: South African President visits Central Logistics Base in 1st Military Region

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa visited the Central Logistics Base in the 1st Military Region on Saturday, the Ministry of the Algerian National Defence said in a statement.
“As part of his state visit to Algeria, at the invitation of Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the Republic, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Minister of the National Defence, Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of the Republic of South Africa, accompanied by Mr. Mohammed Arkab, Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energies, visited today, Saturday, December 7, 2024, the Central Logistics Base in the 1st Military Region, where he was received by Major General Ali Sidane, Commander of the 1st Military Region, in the presence of Major General Ismaïl Seddiki, Head of Organization and Logistics Department of the People’s National Army Staff,” said the source.
At the outset, military honours were paid to the South African president by the various detachments of the Algerian National Army.
Algeria’s guest then visited the various departments and workshops of the base, notably the Track Vehicle Renovation Department and the Foundry Workshop, where detailed explanations were provided to him about the functioning and missions of these workshops.
At the end of the visit, South Africa’s president signed the Golden Book of the Central Logistics Base.
