ALGIERS – The Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed, in a meeting of the Council of the ministers that he chaired on Sunday, that the revision of the association agreement between Algeria and the European Union (EU) comes to “back the good relations” between the two sides and is based on win-win principle.

The Algerian President underlined that the revision of this agreement “isn’t due to a conflict, but aims to back the good relations between Algeria and the European Union as an economic partner on the basis of win-win principle,” according to a communiqué of the Council of ministers.

As regards the presentation on the association agreement between, Algeria and the European Union, Tebboune affirmed that the revision of this agreement “is necessary given the current economic reality, knowing that since it entered into force in 2005, Algeria’s exports included mainly hydrocarbons, while today, our non-hydrocarbon exports have diversified to include other fields, notably the agricultural production, ores, cement, foodstuffs and others.”
