Algeria: President Tebboune Offers Condolences to Tiaret Road Accident Victims’ Families

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his heartfelt condolences on Thursday to the families affected by a tragic road accident in Tiaret province that resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to 33 others.

“In light of the tragic collision this morning in Aïn Lemsane, on the road connecting Frenda to Aïn Kermes in Tiaret, where two innocent students lost their lives and 33 others were injured—three of them critically—as they were heading to school in pursuit of knowledge, we can only implore Almighty Allah to bestow His holy mercy upon our deceased children. We extend our condolences to their families and to ourselves during this painful ordeal, while praying to Almighty Allah, in this sacred month, to receive them into His vast paradise. We also wish the injured a swift recovery and a safe return to their loved ones,” stated the condolence message.

“The tragedy occurred due to the reckless driving of a tractor-trailer that collided with a school bus,” he added.

“While commending the swift response of civil protection units who assisted the injured before they were transported to healthcare facilities in Sougueur and Tiaret, we urge all relevant institutions and authorities to intensify their efforts and enhance vigilance to eliminate road terrorism, which has once again impacted our children during this sacred month. To God we belong, and to Him we shall return,” concluded the President of the Republic in his message of condolences.
