Algeria, Nigeria Sign MoU to Boost Parliamentary Cooperation

ALGIERS, Oct 21, 2025 – Algeria’s People’s National Assembly (PNA) and Nigeria’s House of Representatives have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening consultation, coordination, and the exchange of expertise between the legislative bodies of both countries, the Algerian parliament said Monday.

The agreement was signed in Algiers by PNA Speaker Brahim Boughali and his Nigerian counterpart, Tajudeen Abbas, who is on an official visit to Algeria leading a high-level parliamentary delegation, the statement added.

The memorandum seeks to enhance joint parliamentary work and expand bilateral cooperation on issues of mutual interest. It also reflects the “depth of historical and political ties” between Algeria and Nigeria, as well as their shared commitment to coordination in international fora, the PNA said.
