Afreximbank President Highlights Talks with Algerian President

Benedict Oramah, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), expressed his contentment on Wednesday in Algiers following his fruitful discussions with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. During their meeting, both leaders agreed to collaborate in order to enhance trade transactions across Africa.
In a statement to the press after the audience with the President, Oramah characterized the discussions as “productive,” underscoring their shared commitment to partnering with Algeria to boost commercial exchanges and support investments throughout the continent. He highlighted the example of “milk trade between Uganda and Algeria” to illustrate potential collaboration.
The two parties also committed to jointly facilitating trade exchanges among various African nations, with Oramah envisioning a “promising future” for relations between Africa and Algeria.
On this occasion, Oramah commended Algeria’s decision to host the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) scheduled for September 2025, which is anticipated to attract over 30,000 visitors and generate “millions of dollars in trade transactions and investments.”
